Calendar Modes & Visibility in nocal

Use calendar modes in nocal to control which calendars feed your inbox and how visible each calendar is on the timeline.

Calendar modes control how each calendar contributes to your inbox and how much space it takes on the timeline — so a busy schedule stays readable.

Inbox mode

Include or exclude a calendar's invites from your unified inbox. Turn it off for calendars whose invites you don't need to act on, like a read-only team or holidays calendar.

Visibility mode

Keep a calendar always expanded, or set it to minimized/background mode. Secondary calendars are minimized by default to reduce visual noise; expand the ones you're actively working from.

GoalWhat to do
Focus on work hoursMinimize personal calendars temporarily
Hide noisy shared calendarsSet them to background mode
Reduce clutterKeep holiday or birthday calendars minimized until needed

Changing a calendar's mode only affects nocal — it doesn't change anything on the provider's side or for anyone else.
